Welcome to Grand Valley Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Where training takes place both on and off the mat.

As the largest gym in Mesa County, Grand Valley BJJ brings in athletes of all ages, backgrounds and skill sets. Because of this, we offer a wide range of classes and expose our students to many different styles of martial arts. We are the home to a team of high-level coaches and a landing spot for world-class athletes. With 10 black belts and years of experience, our instructors are well-trained martial artists who have excelled at their craft and are eager to empower our athletes to do the same. Not to mention, students of Grand Valley BJJ are given the opportunity to train under the best of the best: UFC fighters. Several times a year, we welcome professional BJJ World Champions and UFC Fighters into our gym to teach classes on their area of expertise, providing our students with exposure to a variety of Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai styles.

From day one, Grand Valley Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has been embraced by the community.

After moving fromTexas, our founder, Kevin Lewis, began teaching at a local gym. He quickly made an impact and, before long, his students encouraged him to open a school of his own. Kevin took their advice, opening Grand Valley BJJ in September of 2013. But what started out as a side hustle soon became a full-time gig. Five years later, Grand Valley BJJ had grown immensely and we decided it was time our space did too. After expanding into another unit and doubling our mat space, Grand Valley is now home to about 300 students!

We have loved sharing our passion for the martial arts throughout this past decade, and can’t wait to continue changing lives – one technique at a time.
